Jasmine is a tilting ceramic teapot with an emotional design that reinvents and subverts the ancient ritual of tea. This unique and innovative teapot combines functionality and aesthetics offering a unique sensory experience when preparing and serving tea.
The design is characterized by elegant lines, flowing curves and carefully thought-out details. The tilting shape of the teapot adds an element of surprise and dynamism to tea time, as when you pour, the teapot gently tilts, creating an engaging visual experience.
It is Design Gang's first self-production project, which oversaw all phases: design, production, communication and sales. The project, as it is free, is the result of various reflections. From a semantic design point of view it answers the question: why should I move a hot and heavy object (the teapot) towards another cold and light one (the cup) when I could do the opposite? This is how Jasmine was made, the tilting teapot born from a basic reflection about experience design
At the experience level, the teapot is also designed to be at the center of a table in order to recreate a ritual. It is deliberately different in its shape compared to traditional teapots, because it gathers guests around it and represents a narrative starting point, the central nucleus of conviviality. The cup also has an unconventional shape, designed to accommodate the stream of tea being poured into the space, thanks to its ogival design.
